In 2013 Steppas Records launched ’The Eight Trigrams of Steppas Records’, an experimental limited release series curated by Alpha Steppa. The collection was carefully compiled to represent, through sound - the dance of duality, harmony, balance, movement and impermanence - Inspired by the ancient Book of Changes (The I-Ching), Trigram is an interpretation of the ever changing, myriad sounds of the Universe. Guided by this ancient Eastern paradigm Alpha Steppa spent seven years working with producers from across the globe; from the UK, to Korea, Brazil, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Germany and Romania. Incorporating the sound, timbre and ambience of each producer’s respective traditional culture Trigram tells a story of the Earth and its living world.

The imprint has now reached it’s conclusion, and to consummate the series Steppas Records have compiled the complete Trigram collection, including unreleased mixes and an exclusive final instalment ‘Trigram Zero’.

Also available at www.steppas.com > The ultimate limited edition Trigram vinyl box set of 100 editions. Comprised of original pressings of the complete set of all eight 10” Trigrams, the final instalment ‘Trigram Zero’, hand-cut on one side and engraved on the other with a unique quote from Lao Tzu, the father of Taoist philosophy and the inspiration for the series. The set also includes a Trigram badge, gold print patch and sticker housed in a premium quality hard shell case bound numbered box with magnetic clasp.
