This production was made using exclusively Taonga Pūoro (singing treasures), traditional indigenous māori musical instruments of Aotearoa (New Zealand). Created by Taonga Pūoro master Horomona Horo & dub producer Alpha Steppa, the 15-minute piece combines the ethereal sounds of Taonga Pūoro with the spiritual depths of dub. 'Ipurangi' is a musical interpretation of a Māori creation story and takes the listener on a journey from Te Kore (the void) to Te Pō (the darkness) through Te Whai Ao into it's culmination Te Ao Mārama (the world of light). We hope you enjoy this special project, Kia ora!
